Usually this relates to the appearance of the labia minora, labia majora, and the nearby mons pubis area.
How do I know if I need labiaplasty?
Labiaplasty is performed as a cosmetic procedure. Having a labiaplasty is completely elective and you would decide if you need it or not. Women often want a neater overall vaginal appearance, especially if the labia minora is long or stretched. Sometimes this can cause pain or affect intimate relations, and may be uncomfortable while walking, running, or wearing swimsuits, or fitness attire. If any of these sound like you, you may consider treatment with a labiaplasty. Scars are virtually invisible.
After weight loss, the labia major can appear sagging or stretched. The answer is not to do labial puffing with fat or filler in those cases, rather, Labia Majoraplasty is the procedure best to address that. The scar hides along the inner labia majora.
What can I expect from labiaplasty?
The labiaplasty is performed as an outpatient procedure at an accredited surgery center. It is most often done under general anesthesia. Dr. Fisher’s technique is meticulous and having the procedure done in the office under local is only done for certain cases.
The procedure has a downtime of about 2 weeks for early healing and 6-8 weeks for complete return to normal activity.
