- You have realistic expectations about the outcome.A tummy tuck can make a huge difference in your self-confidence and appearance, but it isn’t intended to be a surgery for weight loss. You should also know that after your surgery, there is a long period of recovery time and results will not be noticeable right away. If you remain committed to a healthy lifestyle following a tummy tuck by eating right and exercising, you may be a perfect candidate for this surgery.
